Histopathological Characteristics and Incidence of Thyroid Carcinoma in a Tertiary Care Hospital of Pakistan - A retrospective study

Background: Thyroid cancer is the most frequently occurring of endocrine organs. From past few decades, prevalence thyroid carcinoma increasing generally and this has aroused great public concern.Papillary primarily responsible for high prevalence.The cases other types malignancies have remained stable over time. Aim: To analyze our institution-based trends in histopathological characteristics incidence carcinoma. Study Design: Retrospective study Place duration: Pathology Department Rai Medical College, Sargodha, from July 2017 to June 2022. Methodology: This comprised 56 neoplasm diagnosed on biopsy. The main histologic include papillary, follicular, medullary anaplastic. Results: Of 374 lesions reviewed, were malignant. Among these, PTC constituted about 43(76.78%) cases. There 6(10.71%) follicular ca followed by 5(8.92%) 1(1.78%) case anaplastic Practical implication: Unfortunately, frequency Pakistan increaseandthe country difficult measure due limitations epidemiological statistics.
